How to Encrypt Email in Webmail?


Webmail encryption allows the users to safely send or receive the emails without someone else reading it. With the help of the encryption you can keep your emails and files confidential. You can enable this option on various devices. Here you are going to learn how you can do it on Gmail, Outlook, and Proton webmail. 


For Outlook Webmail 


  • On a web browser open your Outlook program. 

  • Then, select the "New Message" option and add the necessary details.

  • Next, click on the Encrypt dropdown and select your preferred option.

  • Select the Send button to send the email. 


For Gmail Webmail


  • Go to your Gmail account in your browser.

  • Select "Compose" to write the email.

  • Now, fill in the information, then click on the lock icon in the menu below.

  • Head to 'Select expiry' to choose a period, then select either 'No SMS passcode' or 'SMS Passcode' below.

  • Select the Save button.

  • At last select the click Send to deliver the encrypted email.

  • Finally, the process will be complete. 


For Proton Webmail


  • Go to your Proton Mail account in any browser.

  • Select the Compose option. 

  • Next, you need to type the details and message, and click the lock icon.

  • Type and and confirm the message password in the pop-up window, then click on Set.

  • Select the "Send" to send the encrypted message via email.
